Control Varnish Ink on PrintEXP & FlexiPRINT Software for UV DTF Printer on Sticker Printing
In this video, we will demonstrate how to work with varnish on your UV DTF 300 printer, so please stay tuned. We’ll begin by importing the artwork into your software. After that, you’ll need to adjust the dimensions to your desired size. Once these adjustments are complete, I’ll guide you through the process of working with varnish.
To start, navigate to the “Print” menu and then select “Advanced Options.” From there, click on “Dri Options.” You’ll notice both white and varnish options available. Activate both the white and varnish options. Under the “White Ink Options,” choose the “Solid” setting. Similarly, under the “Varnish Options,” select the “Solid” setting as well. After making these selections, click “OK.” Now, proceed to send the print job.
Although you can print directly from the print manager, we recommend printing from the Hen Soft software. This allows you to adjust colour and varnish levels according to your preferences. Now that the artwork is imported, let’s explore how to manipulate these levels.
Right-click on the artwork and select “Task Setting.” Here, you can adjust the amounts of colour, white, and varnish to be printed. For this demonstration, I’m adjusting the varnish level to two. Once you’ve made your adjustments, click “OK.” At this point, we are ready to print.
The objective of this exercise is to print the artwork and then apply a layer of varnish over it. To illustrate the difference, We will print one version without the varnish. Now, let’s examine the result of the varnish application.
Varnish serves to protect the print, making it scratch-resistant and durable over time. It also enhances the appearance with a glossy finish and adds a subtle 3D effect. Comparing this to the print without varnish, you can observe the difference.
While these are the fundamental steps for applying varnish, you can explore more creative possibilities. For instance, you can select an option to apply varnish only over colored areas, creating a unique effect. To achieve this, choose “Spot Colour” under the varnish options.
For more advanced varnish options, you can further fine-tune settings. Right-click on the artwork, select “Task Setting,” and explore the “Cut Ink” options. Here, you have precise control over the amounts of ink, white, and varnish to be printed. This enables you to achieve specific effects, like creating see-through stickers or emphasizing varnish over colour.
